Silly Girl!

She sits alone in the café
gorging at a red velvet cake or the chocolate chip ice cream
Silly girl, doesn't know the dessert will fill only her empty tummy
Not her empty deserted heart

She gazes into his eyes to find love
Finds comfort to see her reflection in them
Silly girl, doesn't know they’re glass walls
she can’t penetrate

She watches movies and takes notes on love
Those love stories make up her dreams
She thinks hers to will have a ‘happily ever after’ like them
Her hero to will look back and find love in her
Silly Girl, doesn’t know heroes in the movies aren’t meant to be real
And true love isn’t meant for all, not her at least

A hard core romantic she is, silly girl

She fights with destiny and tears
She prays to the impossible to happen
Hoping for miracles, trying to create some of her own
As she reaches a dead end every time
Work, love, friendship
Nothing seems to work for her
Silly girl, doesn't know the tears won’t change destiny

She crack silly jokes, acts witty, makes antics
Dances through life
Trying to make people around her smile
Trying to find her smile through theirs
Silly girl, doesn't know that those smiles are momentary
Will tire, fade and disappear with time
And her reason to smile won’t ever be hers

She clings to hope
Despite having no reason to hope
She dismisses embracing the easy way out
She refuses to go numb
Silly girl, doesn't know embracing death would end the pain
Once and for all
She argues she knows people with bigger, more important sorrows
Doing just fine

And so she lives, she hopes, she jokes, she smiles
She prays, dances, laughs, loves like there’s no tomorrow
Without any reason
Silly Girl!
